New Chicago Indie Tells the Story of a Queer Clairvoyant Dominatrix

Holy Trinity is a movie, written and directed by Chicago-based Molly Hewitt, that tells the story of a queer, femme Dominatrix named Trinity who huffs magic aerosol and develops the ability to speak to the dead. Flipping between hallucination and reality, Trinity's journey begins normalizing spiritual experiences outside of institutionalized religion. She's joined by her submissive partner, Baby, and meets a cast of LGBTQ personalities, from Drag Queens to sex workers and a Reiki practitioner.

Hewitt's been writing the forthcoming feature for nearly three years, and developed its plot by reflecting on her own experiences in Chicago's thriving queer scene. Described as a film created by LGBTQ people for LGBTQ people, Holy Trinity notably stars some of the city's most impactful queer performance artists, from Rose to Darling Shear and Imp Queen, who appears as herself during a religious nightclub scene (see above).

The film is being produced by Full Spectrum Features, a 501c3 nonprofit, that strives to support the work of women, LGBTQ and minority filmmakers like Hewitt. Currently in the pre-production process, Holy Trinity is crowdsourcing funds on Kickstarter with a final goal of $15k--donations are promised to directly benefit costume and set design, editing and sound design, and the actual cast and crew behind the film.
